Whenever I think of the Dear America series, this is one of the most well-known that comes to mind. This one actually held my interest more than the other two I recently read about the same historical time period. It gave a lot of interesting details and descriptions about the Washingtons, but also some surprisingly graphic depictions of the horrors of war. The ending was also somewhat lackluster, although this seemed to be an attempt to end on a more upbeat note. Overall, one of the better books in the series that I would recommend.
