What a great children's book! Absolutely top-notch writing that's seldom seen this good. All characters are fleshed out. The story is fast and funny and new mystery elements keep appearing. All chapters are good.
Luckily by far the best character is also the lead meaning we stay in this funny atmosphere. Turtle is brilliant yet also a bully and it all comes together in the murder mystery itself. All characters are silly over the top. The audiobook narrator was spectacular. Did all voices yet not too much as is often seen today. Frankly the best audiobook narration I've ever seen.
The murder mystery is frankly too complex yet it's clever and interesting. I did enjoy the minor bomb mystery a bit more.
It is a bit too confusing. I'd like a murder mystery to be simple enough to understand and figure out before the reveal. Here it's so much info you can't even understand all evidence.
I did enjoy it and had to keep reading. Yet it did feel a tiny bit pointless theme wise. As a children's book it doesn't aim at any one huge message. You may like or dislike the aimless nature. But you have to admit the book is funny.
