At first, I thought this book was a little too self-aware about the audio books industry - while I was indeed listening to this on audiobook. By this, I mean the voices were a little ‘too pristine and perfect’ to be believable as actual people. I felt they were actors reading the parts - which they were. But over time, I became engaged in the story itself, and the relationships. The characters, Sophie and August, and his kid sister, Abby, were broken by various events - but the Christian-based theme of rebuilding and discovery of new possibilities, was a wonderful storyline. I see this is part of a series. I plan to check out the other stories.
