The Troublemaker (The Dugout)

By Piper Rayne

A fake marriage deal was never in my life's plan.Especially not to Easton Bailey. Chicago Colts flashy shortstop. The kind of man built for a good time and allergic to forever. And the one who just slid a ring on my finger... on paper. It's supposed to be simple. A mutually beneficial arrangement. I play nanny to his son. He plays husband to my family. No emotions. No complications. And absolutely no falling for each other. Turns out pretending to be a family is the fastest way to break every rule we set. Because he watches me like it was never just a deal. Because he trusts me with the person who matters most. Because the more we pretend, the less fake it feels. And now the man who was never supposed to stay is the one I can't lose.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Troublemaker was such a fun, addictive read and the perfect way to wrap up The Dugout Series.

Easton and Hadley start out as long-time friends with benefits, but everything changes when Easton suddenly finds out he has a son. While balancing his baseball career and new responsibilities, he brings Hadley in as a nanny. In return, Hadley needs a fake husband to help secure her inheritance and protect her bookstore.

Their chemistry is instant and undeniable, and I loved watching the slow shift from fake marriage to real feelings. I love how they learn to communicate and grow together, and how their support of each other made their relationship even stronger.

One of my favorite parts was seeing Easton step up as a father. He completely rises to the occasion for his son, and that growth made me love his character even more. Hadley’s bond with little Tanner was especially sweet, and I loved how naturally she fit into their lives.

🎧 The audiobook narration was fantastic. Connor Crais captured Easton perfectly, while Christine Lakin brought Hadley to life beautifully. The full-cast narration—including JF Harding, Sean Masters, Teddy Hamilton, CJ Bloom, Erin Mallon, Willa Jaymes, Meg Sylvan, and Austin Stone—made this such an engaging and immersive listening experience.

I’m honestly sad this series is over, but this was the perfect final book.

Highly recommend the entire series!
