Please check the transaction you are buying. I did an ebook and found the read jarring and an uncomfortable read. Others in the book read paper and audio and absolutely loved the book. My reading experience was a 1/10 due to the translation I am sure
Audio book. This story is really quite sweet as we accompany the two main characters, Satoru and Nana on a road trip through Japan. Nana is the treasured cat of Satoru, and the story is told through his perspective. We learn how the two met and the closeness of their relationship. Then as we travel with them, we meet old friends of Satoru who is hoping to find someone to love Nana as much as he does, knowing he could no longer keep him. I thought Hiro Arikawa developed each character of the story, and their history with Satoru very well. I loved the way Nana's personality shone throughout the storyline. The story had both humor and sadness weaved throughout and I was surprised at the outcome but happy that it turned out well for Nana in the end.
I really enjoyed this book. It was the first time with an audio book and I did find my mind wandering at times because of sitting and watching a lovely scene as I listened. I think I prefer the written word.

This book was charming, cute, funny, and touching. Just like Nana. I’m a sucker for stories where you go on an adventure and meet different people with different stories and see different places. I knew what was going to happen from the beginning, but I still cried when it did. Also, I loved seeing Nana’s character development. Maybe parts were a little cheesy, and maybe Satoru wasn’t a super round character, but The Traveling Cat Chronicles is still a lovely little book.

i wanted to cry
Nicely translated. At first I thought it was just a sweet story but I confess it did cause me to shed a few tears - and do not often do that when reading a book. Thankfully it does not sadden you for long.
