The Time Machine

When the Time Traveller courageously stepped out of his machine for the first time, he found himself in the year 802,700—and everything had changed. In this unfamiliar, utopian age creatures seemed to dwell together in perfect harmony. The Time Traveller thought he could study these marvelous beings—unearth their secret and then return to his own time—until he discovered that his invention, his only avenue of escape, had been stolen.

H. G. Wells’s famous novel of one man’s astonishing journey beyond the conventional limits of the imagination first appeared in 1895. It won him immediate recognition and has been regarded ever since as one of the great masterpieces in the literature of science fiction.

I would have liked more on the fate of one of the characters. H. G. Wells’ own Darwinian beliefs seem to have influenced some of the elements in the story. Kelsey Grammer’s narration was on point for me. His tone and pronunciations brought the characters to life with an authenticity to the time period.

You do not need the illustrated version for your kindle.

The "illustrations" are arbitrary psychedelic images that add nothing to the reading experience. Skip this version and get the cheaper one or a free copy elsewhere.

The Time Machine by H.G. Wells is a classic science fiction novel that takes readers on a thrilling journey through time. As the Time Traveller explores the future, he encounters dystopian societies and grapples with the profound implications of human evolution.

So it feels like this should be a one of those classics that you read in high school and do a little crit, if that was the case I’d like it more but I would not recommend for “fun” reading. Somewhat quick read. And there was good audio on YouTube and cool comics on hoopla to it.

I likedWar of the Worlds better, but you have to credit Wells with a creative and truly open ended imagination. Considering that this was written in the 19th century is pretty remarkable. I certainly hope Wells prognostications are not true, and im struggling to remember what astronomy knowledge existed at the time.
Checked this one off my list.
