Thought it was a good book. Nothing that really stood out too me and seemed to drag out at certain times when it didn't need to. The characterization was not the best and I did not always feel the connection between the MC and his best friend or his love interest portrayed that well with me getting no personal attachments to any particular character. What was good was the worldbuilding and magic system which were unquiet and interesting with a good mystery that kept you asking questions. Overall a okay book but don't know if I will buy the sequel.
