It's been a very long time since I read a Anderson book. I can see why this is a good read for a child. This is a beautiful and captivating little short fairytale. It's a perfect little blend of magic and realism and gives the reader a little knowledge on love, courage, friendship and the outcome of being selfish. It follows little Gerda as she goes on a journey and faces different challenges to find Kay
