I read the first three Chronicles of Narnia books just before the movies came out. Movie #4 is just taking too long to get off the ground so I decided to read it now anyway (although now I see the movie is in the screenwriting phase).
Like each of the prior Narnia books, this one is a great adventure (featuring young women along with boys) including the usual strong Christian overtones with Aslan, another evil witch, a vast underground civilization, talking animals and more.
Now that I'm not waiting for the movies, I'll be hitting up the rest of the series soon too.
