The Shuddering

They only come when it snows, and nobody ever gets away. A group of close friends gathers at a secluded cabin in the wintry mountains of Colorado for a final holiday hurrah. Instead, it may be their last stand. First a massive blizzard leaves them marooned. Then the more chilling realization: something is lurking in the woods, watching them, waiting... Now a weekend of family, friends, and fun has turned into a test of love and loyalty in the face of inhuman horrors. The only hope for those huddled inside is to fight -- tooth and nail, bullet and blade -- for their lives. Otherwise, they'll end up like the monsters' other victims: bright pools of blood on glittering snow, screams lost in the vast mountains.

This was such a quick and fantastic read. The author catches your attention from the very first chapter and holds your attention all the way to the end. The only reason I rated it 4 stars is because I feel as if the first two stories mentioned were unnecessary and didn't really add to the overall book. The ending was pretty good and I enjoyed how the author chose to end it.
I honestly felt like I was reading a horror movie script. I don't typically enjoy reading about monsters but this was great. Disclaimer though it is very gory at parts so read with discretion.

I recently got a kindle & my sister recommended this book to me (she absolutely loves horror, as do I) and this did not disappoint!
The author grips you within the first few sentences of the book & makes you grip your book/kindle with the need of knowing what happens next. I finished it in 3 days and could not put it down.

Our club had mixed reviews on this one, with our lowest being 5.5 and our highest be 8.5! We all agreed the ending felt a bit rushed and could have used a few more pages.
Hilarious thanks to the guy who read the audiobook. Terrible as its literally about nothing in the sense everyone and everything is just a plot device devoid of any depth or context.
Overall good read. Written well, flow was nice. Kept my attention from start to finish. There were some surprising moments for me. I wish the ending was better.
