Loved, loved, loved this book! Kearsley does time travel better than anyone else, and I've read more than my share. Usually I'm left with questions or confusion because details were left hanging. Here, I felt completely satisfied with all aspects of the time travel. Her descriptions were so good that I'm confident I could find my way around Cornwall-now or in 1780-with no difficulty. Her characters were well drawn and real. The romance, and all the difficulties it created, seemed so 'worth it' because the people were wonderful. I was sad to finish this book and leave them all behind.
I love re-reading (or listening) to old favorites. The only words I can think of for this story, or more importantly the love story are sweet and soft. If I should ever find myself transported back in time I would so love to find me a Daniel Butler.
I really enjoyed this novel very much. I def recommend it.
