This is such a unique read, which ended up being as much fun to read as it was knowledgeable.

The first two chapters were so dull I almost quit, but the subsequent chapters were sufficiently interesting that they mostly made up for it. One problem is that there are just so many dinosaurs and only a few were explored in depth so the book seems a little random in the items it covered and the depth it covered them. I didn't have any objections to the author's personality or personal stories (as other readers did) as everything seemed targeted to giving the reader the experience of making and understanding the discoveries in the field.
