Jess needs a fresh start. She’s broke and alone, and she’s just left her job under less than ideal circumstances. Her half-brother Ben didn’t sound thrilled when she asked if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn’t say no, and surely everything will look better from Paris. Only when she shows up – to find a very nice apartment, could Ben really have afforded this? – he’s not there.

It took me a while to finish this one. I've been very busy with school, activities, and volunteering, but luckily I finished this one! It was such a thrilling one! It's more like Freida McFadden books that I've heard of. I gave it 4 stars, and it was almost 5 stars. I liked the story and the plot, but sometimes it's just a little bit off. But I enjoyed reading this one because I also like mysteries and thriller book stuff. So you guys should try to read this one.

fun fast read. liked it better than the guest list, and liked that the main character wasn’t so ditsy, which happens a lot in these types of mysteries. didn’t see some of the twists coming. loved the setting naturally as well.

I have to disagree with the the reviews that found this book slow & boring . This was THE book to stay up past my bedtime reading under the covers on a cold, snowy night! This book truly surprised me, I really thought there were some great plot twists! I alternated between the audio and the physical book, and the narrators on the audio were fantastic, so perhaps that’s why I didn’t find this book as boring as other reviewers.
