3.5 stars. I think this book does a really good job of blending the 'what if you'd made different choices' narrative (think the Midnight Library, Maybe In Another Life) with a cool thriller plot. The main character was compelling.
However, I have two main problems that dropped my rating of this book:
1) I wish the author had spent more time on her life in Chicago. Knowing more about that life would've helped readers really feel her angst over losing it.
2) I do think the narrative (and the main character) was a bit too forgiving of Eric. At the end of the day, this man was a manipulative, controlling, and downright abusive stalker, and somehow she forgives him in like 3 pages and then they..... become friends? No thanks.
