The 35 pages of chapter eight, toward the book's end, told from the perspective of a formerly minor character, were by far my favorite. Had the entire story been in his voice, I would have rated this higher.
Perfect book for the class reunion weekend (Mark's class of 1974), but very poignant story about choices made. I love Guterson's intellectual writing style.
Beautiful language, a slow burn but worth it.
