The Old Guard Vol. 1: Opening Fire

Exceptional concept where the heroine, Andromache of Scythia and her comrades in arms truly kicks @$$ and takes no prisoners. Andromache of Scythia (Andy) is the oldest, that she knows of, is a conundrum: an "Immortals" that can die. The question is when is their time up? They can get hurt after being shot, stabbed, blown up...and then regenerate and come back from the dead. They get hired by Coppley, an ex CIA who betrays them to Merrick, the pharmaceutical corporation who will slice them to death to find out how exactly they are able to be "immortal." The question is, who betrayed Andy and her crew o Merrick and Coopley? The answer is not answered in this series. It is about 160 pages only and it's a very quick read which is surprising for me since I normally do not care for graphic novels. I think I have just changed my mind and I'm enjoying this graphic novel format. Can't wait for the second graphic novel.
