The Neighbor Favor (The Greene Sisters)
A shy bookworm enlists her charming neighbor to help her score a date, not knowing he's the obscure author she's been corresponding with, in this sparkling and heart-fluttering romance by Kristina Forest. Shy, bookish, and admittedly awkward, Lily Greene has always felt inadequate compared to the rest of her accomplished family, who strive for Black excellence. She dreams of becoming a children's books editor, but she's been frustratingly stuck in the nonfiction division for years without a promotion in sight. Lily finds escapism in her correspondences with her favorite fantasy author, and what begins as two lonely people connecting over email turns into a tentative friendship and possibly something else Lily won't let herself entertain--until he ghosts her without a word. Months later, Lily is still crushed, but she's determined to get a hold of her life, starting with finding a date to her sister's wedding. And the perfect person to help her is Nick Brown, her charming, attractive new neighbor, who she feels drawn to for reasons she can't explain. But little does she know, Nick is an author--her favorite fantasy author. Nick, who has his reasons for using a pen name and pushing people away, soon realizes that the beautiful, quiet girl from down the hall is the same Lily he fell in love with over email months ago. Unwilling to complicate things even more between them, he agrees to set her up with someone else, though this simple favor between two neighbors is anything but--not when he can't get her off his mind...

Very cutesy read. I don’t know why it took Nick so long to reveal himself but I enjoyed this book overall.
If youâre looking for a cute rom-com to read, then put âThe Neighbor Favorâ on your list of books to read next! From beginning to end, Kristina Forestâs writing kept me hooked as I followed Lily and Nickâs friendship transform into a relationship. Sometimes your soulmate is right under your nose. Canât wait for the follow-up book on Lilyâs sister, Violet.
It was a cute read, had me laughing at some moments in the book. It immediately caught my attention when the main characters first started interacting with each other. The book didn’t drag, but it moved a bit too slow for me. I felt like I wasn’t able to enjoy the love the characters had for each other for a long enough time. Why I gave it a 7.
At first I wasn't sure that I will like the book because I just couldn't understand the email portion, but that was all in my own mind. Once I restarted with a clear mind I genuinely enjoyed this book and story. The friendship, the life revelations, the communication, the lessons, the love, the family connections were all felt while reading this book. I enjoy stories that intrigue at least 3 or more emotions from me, this story had me experiencing joy, love, happiness, comfort and pure laughter. There was a slight feeling of anger when i wanted Nick to just tell Lily who he was but i had to be patient and understanding of Nick's feelings and thought process. I hope there is a follow up with how their lives are going now, I'm interested in their love story and want to see them flourish in their careers as well. Overall a great book.
