This was a fun and cozy read with a twisty plot, unexpected adventure and friendships and triumphant moments that will have you cheering our main ladies - Judith, Suzie and Becks on - :)
Personally, I love small town settings full of mischief and secrets - found family tropes and mature female protagonists à la Marple - this one is bold, brazen and full of gumption! - and this story has all these pull-factors
As an avid mystery lover - this was very enjoyable and unputdownable, however it was a bit predictable for me (*but will likely not be for other readers) and really I am excited to have found another great mystery genre author in Mr. Thorogood and am looking forward to reading another segment in this sleuthing series!
A very satisfying read! A group of misfits within a small community come together to form a friendship and solve three murders. The ending was partly predictable but left me with a smile on my face as the absurdity of the situation was quite hilarious. It was a quick and easy read that makes me wish I had some kick butt old ladies in my town to solve murders better than the police can! I recommend this book as a reprieve from the heavier novels we all tend to read.
The plot was so unexpected, and the way Judith figured it out...omg!!! I had to go read back some pages. Also loved the recurring theme of frienship (especially between the 3 women), and breaking out of the personal prison of 'what will people' say' that women are fond of caging themselves in.
I rate the book an 8/10. A good read indded!
