Well, I slogged throught the beginning to find the conclusion satisfying enough, but I think I've reached the end of my Tepper reading for a long while. While I generally agree with her philosophical stance underlying each book, I am tired of being beaten over the head with them.
There thing I did enjoy in The Margarets was the reunion of the then variously aged Margarets. It was a wonderfully imaginative meeting of the same person, having had different circumstances. The ultimate 'what if' - if you will- allowing me to imagine just how I might have been different in different life scenarios.
Grass and Beauty will remain my favorite Tepper pieces, but The Visitor and perhaps even A Gate to Women's Country will remain on my lists of suggestions. How could a Margaret not read the Margarets, though?
