If you've read any of the Maid books by Nina Prose you know they are lighthearted, easy feel-good reads. Like the first 2 Molly Maid books, this one also takes place at the Regency Grand Hotel. Molly is engaged to Juan Manuel, who also works at the hotel. When the hit reality show "Hidden Treasures" comes to the hotel to film an episode, Molly brings a shoebox with a few items for the appraisers to take a look at. Much to everyone's surprise, there is one item that turns out to be a rare and priceless treasure. It could make Molly a multimillionaire if she agrees to sell. But the item mysteriously disappears in a daring heist before the final sale.

The key to unlocking the mystery surrounding the item lies in the past-a long-forgotten diary written by Molly's Gran. The story unfolds in alternating chapters, present day and Gran's diary entries. I actually liked the diary chapters. It gives all the back story for Gran and other characters. The overall story is corny and silly. Easy and entertaining.

This is part 3 of a satire who dunnit series that I’m a fan of. It’s not my usual style but it’s funny and this one wove back to the characters history. If you are loooikg for something light, this series is a go. 8/10
