“No one writes about love like Jill Santopolo.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author Carley Fortune
The long-awaited follow-up to Reese’s Book Club pick and New York Times bestselling global phenomenon The Light We Lost: a thrilling love story about the roles fate and choice play in shaping a life.
It’s been ten years. In case you’re out there somewhere. In case you’re listening, I’m here. And I have so much to tell you.
It’s been nearly ten years since Gabe’s been gone when Lucy finds a tiny piece of paper in a box of his old photos. An address in Rome. Why did Gabe keep it, and what was he doing in Italy? Lucy buys a last-minute plane ticket. Impulsive, but Gabe always brought that out in her.
Lucy’s journey to uncover Gabe’s secret leads her to Dr. Dax Armstrong, a New Yorker in Italy working with an NGO. His broad shoulders and sad, intense eyes draw Lucy in. His touch reaches her in a forgotten place—one that no one has neared since Gabe.
But her old life awaits, along with an earth-shattering decision—whether she and Darren should tell their son Samuel the truth about his father. How can Lucy move forward while she’s rooted in the past? Fate broke her heart once. Can finding new love set her free?

"...Secrets are insidious. They work their way into relationships like moths chewing holes in fabric until you realize that your favorite coat has been destroyed"
I LOVED THIS SERIES!!! My last few reads have been magnificent, and I love that for me!!!
A year ago I read "The Light We Lost" and I was so in love with it. Gabe and Lucy were a toxic storm of goodness. Although I had soooo many questions in the end, I came up with my own answers. I thought things would be left up to the reader’s interpretation so….
Imagine my surprise and excitement when I saw there was a new book?! OMG, The Love We Found was achingly good! I couldn't imagine what the story could entail because it's missing one key element, but the author does a great job of continuing the story just as fabulous as the first. It’s just showing how we grow and experience new things at different times in our lives.
The more the story went on the more I realized that characters like Lucy are ones that I love, I remember and I relate to most. Because she was so deeply flawed, imperfect, yet still trying to do and be better. I LOVE Lucy and didn't want her love, life, grief, healing journey to end. This was such an easy flowing, authentic story that could be happening in homes all around us.
Can I just note that I LOVED Lucy's parenting style and close knit relationship with her children. I picked up a few ideas I'd like to incorporate with my daughter. I loved how she and Darren could work together after all they'd been through and still have respect for each other, even though Darren could be a little prickly sometimes (rightfully so)
And Dax?! Whew, what a man?! He was electric, and just what the dr. ordered. Get it Lucy!
I love so much how Gabe’s legacy lived on thru his photos, memories and through Samuel!
It is possible for you to walk forward into new beginnings, carrying the love and light that will live on and never fade.
I loved this series❣️ & the authors’ narration!! 🎁Thanks @prhaudio for my ALC!
