This book was everything and nothing. I feel like so much happened yet nothing happened. As one of my most anticipated reads of the year I am kind of disappointed.It may have been because I read it too fast but the writing was confusing at some points. The story felt rushed like we were moving to too many locations too quickly. The romance and spice was alright but not as much passion as I was expecting from Rory. Give me some time to think about it and maybe I will change my mind. Bartholomew's quotes were my favorite and I liked the sentiment that things can and will get better if we keep trying. The mental health commentary coming from Sybil was interesting. I'm very happy that Rory and Sybil got to live a long life on the Tor with Bartholomew. RIP Maude. She was the mastermind behind everything and would've been the best king ever. I'm going to miss these character's a lot...

I finished this book yesterday. I basically inhaled it in one day between reading and then moving to audio when I couldnt read and then back to the book so I could enjoy it. Let me start by saying I really liked this book and I couldnt put it down. Bartholomew makes this story for me. I love sybil and rorys love. I love sybils strength and rorys attitude. I enjoy the way they talk to each other. But it also could have been so much more. The beginning was so heart breaking and then once the tournament started, too many things were happening to really focus on any one. The use of the loom removed the main obstacle in the story. I really thought their reveal to Benji would be something more exciting. I have many other thoughts but I dont want to give anything away for anyone else. I think I also wanted to be in my feelings and I wasnt left to sit in them for too long. Almost everyone got their HEA. I might come back and reread later and see if my rating stands or if after sitting with it and rereading My rating could go up.
