The Kiss Quotient

From the author of The Bride Test comes a romance novel hailed as one of The Washington Post’s 50 Notable Works of Fiction in 2018 and one of Amazon’s Top 100 Books of 2018!
“This is such a fun read and it's also quite original and sexy and sensitive.”—Roxane Gay, New York Times bestselling author
“Hoang's writing bursts from the page.”—Buzzfeed
A heartwarming and refreshing debut novel that proves one thing: there's not enough data in the world to predict what will make your heart tick.
Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases—a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with, and way less experience in the dating department than the average thirty-year-old.
It doesn't help that Stella has Asperger's and French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. Her conclusion: she needs lots of practice—with a professional. Which is why she hires escort Michael Phan. The Vietnamese and Swedish stunner can't afford to turn down Stella's offer, and agrees to help her check off all the boxes on her lesson plan—from foreplay to more-than-missionary position...
Before long, Stella not only learns to appreciate his kisses, but crave all of the other things he's making her feel. Their no-nonsense partnership starts making a strange kind of sense. And the pattern that emerges will convince Stella that love is the best kind of logic...

Readers say *The Kiss Quotient* is a sweet, steamy romance celebrated for its heartfelt characters, charming humor, and diverse, caring relationship. ...
This book was so cute!
It was steamier than I thought it would be and I loved that the main love interest’s name was Michael, he reminded me of my Michael.
When it comes to the autism spectrum, I'm not familiar enough to know if this was an accurate representation, but I enjoyed it. I personally felt like I learned a bit more about what it's like for someone with autism.

If this were made into a movie it would be R rated
Enjoyed the pov of the woman and the twist on pretty woman but from a male version
THIS BOOK IS JUST SO DARN CUTE!
Full disclosure - as a neurotypical white girl, I can't speak fully on whether the MFC's autism is represented well or not, BUT, I appreciated the narrative as well as the diverse cast of characters this book has.
I absolutely adore Stella & Michael. I loved each of their POVs, and they have some absolutely delightful dialogues and very steamy horizontal interactions.
"You're thinking about work, aren't you? Here I am talking about replacing the underwear I tore having hot bathroom sex with you, and you're zoning out to think about econometrics."
My only complaint comes from the always-included 'conflict' that seems to be necessary in contemporary romances. It's not my favourite trope, especially since it always occurs around the 75% mark, and then gets a quick wrap-up for the HEA. I'd much rather have a conflict earlier in the story and have more time in the relationship post-conflict than the 'hands-dusted-all-good-now' sort of sitch. I will say though, that the post-conflict scenes in this novel were absolutely heartbreaking, for both Stella & Michael - their separate anguish is devastating.
All in all, a lovely, quick read!
Fav quotes:
How did one not obsess over something wonderful? How did one like something a reasonable amount?
If you can't stand being with a woman who's more successful than you, then you leave her alone. She's better off without you. If you actually love her, then know the value of that love and make it a promise. That is the only thing she needs from you.
No wonder my mom likes you so much. It's very Vietnamese to be modest about sex. I didn't even know the correct Vietnamese word for girl parts until I was twenty. Most people call it a little bird. My aunt refers to it as a sweet potato. Those aren't the right words for yours.
