I only read the first 4 short stories. The rest od the stories are romantic stories, but I picked up this book for the horror.
The King in Yellow, the book features several somewhat disjointed short stories revolving a play called The King in Yellow. Anyone who reads the play is said to go mad.
It was a real treat, especially the first story "The Repairer of Reputations". If you enjoy a Poe-esque unreliable narrator that story in particular has that, but with the dna of what would become Lovecraft.
