Update 12/28/2021
My second reading, this time via audio book and let me just say it doesn't get any easier. My heart is still just as shredded as the first time, maybe even more so due to the exquisite narration by Robinne.
First Read 2018
I received this book as a gift in a book club exchange and read it in preparation for attending Book Bonanza later this month. I really enjoyed this read and thought it was beautifully written.

My fav book and writer❤️
So we thought it was called the shape of you, but that something else altogether,
I struggled to finished the book, even at the end. I understood that the author was trying to flip this more to an empowerment female relationship but instead I found the female lead to be impulsive as if she was having a mid life crisis and the male lead to be falling in his first love relationship where he does all the childish behaviours towards the end. Things people go through in their 20s that sre very normal to grow together from but when someone is already their mature self and the other lacks anything past infaution, it is hard to see past anything physical. I didn't watch the movie but from my understanding it is different from the meet and greet, to the dynamics, to the ending. This book could definitely stir up book club topics but I wouldn't read it for fun.
the book was not good. it also was not bad but was not good. idk bruv it have ONE NOTE. Then there was a part where I thought i’d get more drama but it fell flat. And again another moment or two where i’d gain more interest and it’d fall flat.
I like THE IDEA OF THE BOOK. would i want to meet justin bieber back stage and have him fall in love with me? yes. that was literally my young adult dreams. I just didn’t love this storyline.
