My fav book and writer❤️
So we thought it was called the shape of you, but that something else altogether,
the book was not good. it also was not bad but was not good. idk bruv it have ONE NOTE. Then there was a part where I thought i’d get more drama but it fell flat. And again another moment or two where i’d gain more interest and it’d fall flat.
I like THE IDEA OF THE BOOK. would i want to meet justin bieber back stage and have him fall in love with me? yes. that was literally my young adult dreams. I just didn’t love this storyline.

god the hate i have for this book
this is the culmination of everything i dislike about a book. each time we learn more and almost start caring about the character, there's a break or scene cut. give some room for more development or dialogue my god. i wanted to care for them
bless anne hathaway for making it up in the movie with her acting

I understand the concept of demonstration through a book/story that an older woman can have a relationship with a younger man, the same way that men do. But its really hard to operationalize this in any rational way. Its creepy when men have 'relationships' with women 20-30years younger than them, so why wouldn't it be creepy for women to do the same? I don't buy that the 20year old male protagonist was mature beyond his years... he wasn't. Lots of sex and story didn't sit right with me. The daughters infatuation with the 'boy band' was a little over the top. Was a near DNF.
