The Housemaid’s Secret (Book 2) ends with Enzo and Millie reconnecting romantically. The Housemaid is Watching (Book 3) begins with them living together along with their daughter. Upon starting Book 3, I was lost and felt a whole phase of Millie’s life and her relationship with Enzo was missing. I read this short story after I finished the Housemaid Series, and it definitely helped fill in that gap. I suggest others read this short story prior to reading The Housemaid is Watching (Book 3).
Same day read, read as an audiobook so it was quick and easy. Took a little over an hour from start to finish which I value and appreciate. I’m a Freida fan, and lately I’ve been enthralled with her books so finding this series was a wow factor for me. However this story wasn’t really necessary or needed in the series. The plot of this had no real turning point for me. I did read it in between book 2 and 3. I haven’t read book 3 yet so maybe there’s a piece of this book that helps connect the dots in book 3 and my mind might change after reading the last book.
this book is more like a 5.5 star read for me. it was short and sweet which i enjoyed and i am hoping it sets up the next book in the series. this book at some points made me worried, but fell short in a lot of places. millie and enzo are still a good couple and i'm excited to see the development in the last book. all in all, i enjoyed this book but wasn't a fan favorite of mine.
It was very short, but I really liked it and I enjoyed it. I’m gonna miss the sequels.
Literally so in love with this series and this was the cherry on top that I NEEDED.
