The Goldfinch

I am really disappointed by this book, it's just too much, too long, so many repetitions of the same things. This book could've been 300 pages long and it would've been better in my opinion. Without the audiobook I doubt I would've been able to finish this book, even though I don't like the accents the narrator portrayed (since he's a white guy).

While this book was a little lengthy it did hold my interest. It did drone on in parts, but I liked the characters. I was glad to find that the writer did resolve the main characters problem. Or rather he came to realize what is important. I would recommend this book and will probably pick it up to read again in the future.

I listened to the audio book narrated by David Pittu, who does a wonderful job with the expressive voices of the characters. While it took me a chapter or so to get into this book, once I did, I was riveted. Many of the characters are likable and those that aren't are interesting. The story moves at a good pace and held my interest throughout. I found myself caring a great deal about the main characters and emotionally moved by their experiences....read more
