The Gate of the Feral Gods (Dungeon Crawler Carl)

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Follow Carl, Princess Donut, and Mongo as they fight their way to the next level in the fourth book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series—now with bonus material exclusive to this print edition!
New Achievement! Total, Utter Failure.
You failed a quest less than five minutes after you received it. Now that’s talent.
Surviving in a multilevel dungeon that also happens to be the set of the galaxy’s most watched game show has taught Coast Guard vet Carl and his ex-girlfriend’s cat, Princess Donut, that there’s only one thing they can count on apart from each other: they never know what’s coming next. And this floor is no exception.
A floating fortress occupied by warrior gnomes. A castle made of sand. A derelict submarine guarded by malfunctioning machines. A haunted crypt surrounded by lethal traps.
It was supposed to be easy. One bubble. Four castles. Fifteen days. Capture each one, and the stairwell is unlocked. Here's the thing. It's never easy. Going it alone is not an option this time, so Carl and his team must rely on the help of the low-level, I-can't-believe-these-idiots-are-still-alive crawlers trapped in the bubble with them. But can they be trusted?

So entertaining!!
Okay, I need to talk about Juicebox and Samantha, because that is the whole conversation right there. This book somehow took what was already a wildly fun series and made me care even more deeply a sex doll head on a platter, and I honestly did not see that coming when I started reading. The dungeon crawl through the feral god realm is an absolute blast, packed with the kind of absurd, escalating mayhem that makes you read three chapters past your bedtime without noticing.
What gets me about this installment is how the emotional beats land right in the middle of all the chaos. Carl and Donut continue to be one of the most genuinely entertaining duos in the genre, but the side characters absolutely steal whole sections of this book. If you have been sleeping on this series, this is not the entry point, but if you are already here, buckle up because this one goes places I was completely unprepared for in the best possible way.
I love this series!
OMG THAT ENDING THO!!! I'm loving this journey with Carl and Donut! I'm so excited to see where this series goes!!!
Incredible as always. The epilogue for this one is perfect, I'm glad we're finally starting to see a bit more of life for the Natives on the surface and how things are generally going outside of the Crawl. Can't wait to read the next one.
