this was not at all what i was expecting but i stuck through with it and although it hurt so bad to read i think it really gave me a better understanding of how hard people worked during this westward expansion time period and the struggles of moving to california to try to better your life. i kept waiting for that happy ending and even though u dont rly get it it was still good
I love Kristin Hannah’s books so much, and this one is good but wasn’t my favorite. I am normally a fan of sad or emotional books, but this one was such a downer from start to end. On the positive side, I learned so much about this time period. Learning about the Dust Bowl and the migration west to California was very eye opening.
