One of the best trilogies I’ve ever read. Abercrombie is known as the Father of Grimdark for a reason. He’ll have you hooked from the first sentence to the very last and leave you wanting more. The universe he has wrought is intensely thrilling and lethal with no shortage of sharp blades and scores to settle. As grey and bleak as the world he’s built is there’s moments of brotherhood and oddly enough wisdom. It’s a cynical parody almost, on the fantasy genre and its tropes and a hell of a ride.

Every character in this book is scum or villains, yet I was rooting for them every step of the way.
