Definitely wrong time of the year to read this one. And I think I would have enjoyed it more in audio form, as well. Which is something I rarely say.

This was hard for me to read as a non native English speaker. I had to abuse the dictionary function of my kindle and I still felt very lost. I feel like this is one of those cases where a classic doesn't have as much of an impact as it would have when it was originally published due to there being so many iterations of it over the years and it being the inspiration for classics that I grew up with.

While it may not be one of Poe’s most tantalizing stories, “The Fall of the House of Usher” is a fun psychological horror, which makes for a quick and entertaining read.
