“The Facemaker” is about a topic I know little about, being about both World War I and plastic surgery. Putting them together to cover the life and work of Harold Gillies. It’s a wildly interesting topic, such I’d love to learn more about. This barely scratches the surface about WWI facial cosmetic surgery, but I still found it to have a good amount of information that made for a very compelling read. I do wish there was more here, but I know there is plenty of other resources out there that covers this topic. Altogether, Fitzharris did a great job at making this topic accessible for anyone, and I am very intrigued to read her other work, since some of her other works have been in my TBR for a while!
