I didn't hate this book. My biggest issue with it was that it was so long winded and didn't feel like it was going anywhere. I enjoyed the characters and the plot line, I just had a hard time keeping interested after 400 pages. I do like the book, and I will most likely give the next one a go before too long, but I feel that if this book were to be cut in half and made into two novels it wouldn't have felt so drawn out.

A friend of mine recommended this series to me, and I was like...”.... do I have to???” The dread was tangible. But honestly, I loved it. There were parts of it that I wasn’t super here for AKA Broud, the Cave Bear, etc. BUT I was so hooked!!! I don’t read many books that have omniscient narrators, but I loved this one. I’m not sure when I’ll get to the next book, but it’s on my radar and I’m v excited. All in all really enjoyed.
