The Bourne Identity

If you've seen the Matt Damon film, get ready to read a different story, even though the basic premise is the same. "The Bourne Identity" by Robert Ludlum, is the first book in the legendary trilogy. For me, it was more than a thriller: it was like a textbook on how to write perfect suspense. The plot of the amnesiac man, fished out of the sea and hunted by everyone, is a masterpiece of rising tension.

Great book, but don't expect it to be like the movie. It's kind of like seeing Blade Runner, then reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. There's one scene from the book in the movie, the rest is different. Still a great book! Just not much in common with the movie ….
