The Book of Last Letters is a dual timeline novel set in London in 1940 and the present day. This is a book about friendship, love, loss and hope. I loved both timelines very much so. This beautifully written book made me smile and cry and I couldn't put it down. It is the first book I've read by Kerry Barrett but it certainly won't be the last. The fact that Kerry used a real story as her inspiration makes this book even more beautiful. Seeing the real autograph album that was the inspiration for Elsie and her book of letters made this story so much more beautiful. This is a is an amazing story about loyalty, friendship and love during difficult times. I found it very interesting that a scrapbook from the past made such an impact on someone else's life even so many years after being made. This book will make you feel all the big emotions. Sometimes angry (when you read it you will know why), happy and at times will make you sad and even cry a little. I recommend this book to all of you who love a good dual story, WWII stories & stories about love in difficult times. ***Thank you to NetGalley and HQStories for providing me with the ARC version for an honest review.***
