Kasia is an orphan who’s lived a rough life. She is always doing things to help others around her and basically she’s willing to do anything to stay alive. When she almost dies in prison, a beautiful stranger rescues her and takes her away to a different realm. He reveals himself to be a (winged) high lord named Xerses and informs her that she is the long lost Satori heir- the key to breaking the curse in her realm and hopefully defeating their enemy.
I enjoyed seeing Kasia’s walls break down as she slowly began trusting people and allowing herself to enjoy living in the moment. Xerses is so confident and patient with Kasia (and who doesn’t love a devilish winged fae hero?
