An enjoyable romance that also aims for social satire and lightly plumbs questions of technology, fate and free will. I found the satire (of the tech startup/VC world, over the top women's health industry, general consumerism) amusing, but paring it and the book length overall would have helped. I did enjoy the fully fleshed main characters, and their inner relationship monologues certainly rang true!

The Arc is a fantastic book written in a light hearted but serious way about women, women in power and independence through relationships and their jobs. I loved the underlying messages throughout about the gender pay gap and independent women so much! My absolute favourite part is when they visit the Arc and the in-depth detail this took and I also want to be part of the stake! This sounds like the most amazing relaxing place in the world!! 😍 Although the book was based on (what seemed like) very much rich, white privilege I love how it focused more on women and raising them up and called out men in general! It was funny, really made me think about my relationships and I loved the relationships throughout and really could relate to the characters. Interesting parts such as business set ups and ideas I have never heard of but that would be incredible - again raising women up were so good! I do think there were parts where the author went into a lot of detail that could have been missed out and didn’t seem to need too as she had already told us so much about each character! I also thought she could have spoken more in-depth about the family members and friends such as Issa and Catherine but overall I really loved this book and would definitely read it all over again (which I never do!!!) it’s so hard to criticise any of it… I also LOVED the ending and didn’t see it coming at all. It really leaves you questioning would you go through the Arc? And leads to definitely for me so much more self awareness of why we all act in certain ways. I can’t wait to read it and discuss it more with my book club an incredible must read!!! 💕
