Absolute a great book! It’s hard for me to write without spoilers still hush up!
Enjoyed the book, however, I had previously read, 'The Happy Land, by a different author and the stories were very different, so that made me question what's true and what's just for entertainment.
Just wow. Disclaimer: I was questioning this author since I'm having a difficult time finishing The Filling Station. It has no flair. I'm drawn to not one character, and although the Tulsa story is highly important, I can't get into it with this book.
But Ms. Miller does her thing in The American Queen. It's like she didn't even try hard. But the way she wove the story of the People who became the Happy Landers just captured me. I laughed. I put the book done when I worried or was fearful of what was to come. I got angry. I cried. I smiled and awed at the encouragement shared between people. My heart swelled at the love story within. Ms. Miller, thank you for this voyage into the Happy Land.
The author had over embellished in my opinion.
This was a good book. A much better one than a prior one written by this author. I enjoyed reading about this story based on true facts and loved the characters.
