Started off strong. A young women who runs a tea shop encounters an evil mage and is arrested by the witch hating authorities. While in prison she is rescued and taken to the Tarot Academy. The place her dead parents were thrown out of in shame and made her promise never to attend. From there the story becomes another magical school book trope. There are four houses and potions classes. Of course there is a big bad guy, but he is in the background. The one thing the book does really well is to describe the Tarot. The symbols of the deck are used in creative ways, revealing the author's research. A few steamy sex scenes made the book hot, but there are four potential love interests. The protagonist is attracted to whichever one is nearest. I thought the book might take a big leap and have her be part of a polyamorous relationship, not sure it will go that way. The book is part of a series. Not inclined to read further books. Not terrible, just reminiscent of so many other magical school stories.
