Let me stop you right here: don’t do this to yourself. You will invest in some decent characters and find a lot of sympathy from the main female perspective only to discover that the story has no sympathy for her. At. All.
Emma was jilted at the alter and longed to find the love like the love her sisters and parents have… she’s so close with her family, too, which makes the ultimate plot climax where her sister and the man Emma decided to marry end up together such a flippin’ slap in the face. I saw this coming about 6 hours in and still held out hope that it wouldn’t be like that- after all, this is really Emma’s story about her journey to find love, but…. Oh man did this really miss the mark.
Save yourself the time. There is way better chick lit to read….
