This was a good read! Good for Summer choosing herself and how she really felt instead of what was predictable and safe. She knew her heart wasn’t fully invested and even though she should have figured it out waaaay before her wedding day, I’m happy she did. The MMC Echo was also great in this story, I did feel he should have spoke up more when they were younger, but that pre frontal lobe gets you everytime. LOL! This was a sweet friends to lovers romance, if that’s what you’re looking for, you will enjoy this read.
A sweet story about coming of age, choices, life and send chances. Summer and Echo met at Camp Quest and became inseparable best friends. They eventually became more and a birthday surprise ended with life altering events. Then life happened and they moved away and lived. Summer set to marry Deshawn had left him at the altar and Echo found the run away bride at their spot. He helped her figure out the inevitable. They eventually found their way back to each other and got the blueberry and the HEA 😘
This is how you write a love story! Wow, this has me had me hooked from the beginning. I loved how the author went back and forth between the two main characters and showing the growth between them individually and together. The characters being my age in the book made it even better and so easy to reminisce with, especially detailing the clothes and events. The story isn’t too short or too long which also helps with it being a good and fun read. I recommend everyone add Summer’s Echo to their summer reading list.
I enjoyed the story. Summer and Echo have this great love that they’ve both been too scared to take the leap into, and Summer decides she’s finally ready to do what she needs to to have the happiness she’s been wanting. In order to do that, she had to be honest with herself and everyone around her which she struggled with the most. For them to not have officially been together over the 15 years of their friendship, but to have gone through all of it while being so young was heartbreaking. I enjoyed watching these friends find their way back to each other. My only issue was the time jumps because there were times when I was confused, and they made it hard to keep up with certain points of the story.
