I guess I liked this sequel, but it didn't fill me with joy the way the first book did. My main gripe was the author's fascination with large room-sized flesh monsters and his loving descriptions of other gross fleshy things and especially of surgery, of which there is a lot because of the nature of the Grafters. The novel seems both too icky for those who are in it for the quick wit and new ideas, and too dry for horror lovers. Though I finished it I don't count this one among my favorites.
