A wonderful story about a single mother, her two daughters and a dream of playing soccer on the national team. I am not a soccer fan, however, I enjoyed reading of the journey of girls soccer careers.
Spectacular Things delivers a tough, moving family drama woven with loss, grief, and the fierce bond between sisters. Add in women’s soccer—training, determination, and nonstop grit—and it’s impossible not to be drawn in. I’m not a sports person, yet I found the subject fascinating and the story powerful, emotional, and touching.

Spectacular Things was an enjoyable read that balanced serious themes like death and illness with warmth and heart. While the tone occasionally felt a bit juvenile, the story was engaging and meaningful. I appreciated the emotional depth and the way it explored connection and resilience.
