Daisy Swann was thirteen years old when Theodore Prescott the Third dubbed her "Ugly Duck Daisy"  and she has despised him ever since, vowing to hate him until her dying day.

As one of Manhattan's Rogues of Millionaire Row, Theo is no stranger to scandal but after his latest transgression, his father is demanding he settle down and marry a respectable woman. While Daisy's mother has just informed her that she MUST marry Theodore Prescott the Third because of a devastating family secret that could be coming to light.

Daisy has NO plans of entering into a loveless marriage and plans to pursue her dreams of establishing a cosmetic company to launch her miracle complexion cream. She wants to gift other women who feel lacking in beauty a chance to enhance their looks and find confidence in themselves.

As Theo and Daisy begin their sham of an engagement, they find they can help each other in more ways than one. And maybe, just maybe, they might like kissing each other and maybe they won't want to end their fake engagement.

I love historical romances set in America and this book was a refreshing change from all the Dukes and Earls that saturate the current historical romance market.

Daisy and Theo's story was a slow burn and it took them a while to find something more in common than wanting out of their parents' arrangement. I liked that Daisy was determined to find her way with or without Theo. She didn't want to be saved, she wanted to save herself. They balanced each other out and were able to be true partners.

Maya Rodale's books are pretty solid and I can always count on them to be an entertaining distraction from real life. Some Like it Scandalous was a nice escape for me.
