Slaughterhouse-Five: A Novel (Modern Library 100 Best Novels)
The first-ever, critically acclaimed graphic novel adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five now available in softcover! Centering on the infamous firebombing of Dresden, Billy Pilgrim's odyssey through time reflects the mythic journey of our own fractured lives as we search for meaning in what we fear most. Billy Pilgrim's journey is at once a farcical look at the horror and tragedy of war where children are placed on the frontlines and die (so it goes), and a moving examination of what it means to be fallibly human. An American classic and one of the world's seminal antiwar books, Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five is faithfully presented in graphic novel form for the first time from Eisner Award-winning writer Ryan North (How to Invent Everything: A Survival Guide for the Stranded Time Traveler) and Eisner Award-nominated artist Albert Monteys (Universe!).

What an interesting and fantastically written book. I'll read it again and I'm certain I'll catch all sorts of things I missed the first time.
What an interesting and enlightening read! Definitely bears another reading - so many things here to provoke thought concerning WWII. (At least that’s my opinion)
A mix of humor to tamp down the horror of war, a delicate balance Vonnegut mastered. I really enjoyed his writing style and very much interested in reading more of his work.

Finally finished this book. Only took forever. Wish I'd read it so much sooner. It would have opened my eyes to some things sooner. But oh well. It was a nice, fun, kinda goofy, but also extremely dark at times read. Want to read more Vonnegut now. Should this be my Vonnegut year? Pretty sure he's the only repeat offender on my list this year of new reads
