Siddhartha (Dover Thrift Editions: Classic Novels)
In the novel, Siddhartha, a young man, leaves his family for a contemplative life, then, restless, discards it for one of the flesh. He conceives a son, but bored and sickened by lust and greed, moves on again. Near dispair, Siddhartha comes to a river where he hears a unique sound. This sound signals the true beginning of life - the beginning of suffering, rejection, peace and, finally, wisdom.

This book feels simple in words; when you finish, you feel wiser. Although it comes from a different culture, the experiences are relatable.
In life, we suddenly become aware of ourselves. The person we become drifts in the fluidity of the world, manifesting into the person; we want to be. I learned this after reading this chronicle. Although, you may learn something else. Something more invaluable to you.
