Love this series! There battles and military life seemed realistic. Paks quietly dreams of shiney armour and a great horse but just wants to fight for a just cause. Something or someone is leading her to greatness.

I've read military sci-fi and enjoyed it. I was unsure how this would go, taking that story and putting it in a medieval setting. Having the story of a young soldier in a medieval setting was a refreshing change. Surprisingly, that it was from the vantage point of a woman played far less of a part in the story than the setting. That Moon is ex-military helped give it a realism that I appreciated very much. Highly recommended!
