I'm torn. On one hand, this book is full of useful questions to ask yourself while writing a novel. Who is the real protagonist? What changes does the protagonist need to make? But at the same time, the book is so incredibly formulaic that it made me wince. "At this percentage of the book, have a second character that the protagonist has never met show up and ask a question that lays out the books theme." I know authors who swear by this book and say it helps them in their creative journey, but this formula personally hinders rather than helps my work. It's written in an easy to read, enjoyable voice and could be helpful. Your mileage may vary.
