A quick, intense, passionate love story. It was a fake marriage that turned more. Great on audio! 3.5⭐️

LOVE THIS! I thought this was going to be a basic one night stand to lovers kind of story. But it wasn’t and it was so much more. The character development was amazing. It’s a relatable topic for many people and to see how the male main character took slow steps to help the female character grow was just heart warming.

Smuts-up with some of these crazy critical reviews? Listen, I’m not normally the biggest fan of smut. And yes, this book/short is exhausting in its flaws. We literally go right into the hot girl who works at a bar trope, quickly find out this is another hockey romcom, immediately thereafter there’s a fake relationship - that OF COURSE isn’t fake. I firmly believe that the intent of this was to put some softcore out there for the ladies and gents needing it as bad as the dude in this book does. But I’m not complaining. While the brevity of the book forces a certain suspension of disbelief, the smut is HOT and this time, I was here for it. It was well done. Can’t complain lol.

With Tessa Bailey books I either love the story or feel meh.

I ignored the blatant lack of research into the timeline for immigration and decided that I just going to enjoy the ride. For a novella I thought it was good. I’ve read some pretty terrible novellas and I thought there was enough character development that I could be invested in the characters. I thought the overall story was cute. Britta and Sumner were good for each other. He had unwavering faith in her and that’s exactly what she needed.
