Restore Me by J.L. Seegars is an emotional, slow-burn romance filled with grief, longing, second chances, and impossible timing. Sloan is still navigating life after the devastating loss of her husband when Dominic, his best friend, steps back into her life. What she doesn’t know is that their story actually began years earlier with one unforgettable night that neither of them ever truly forgot.
As buried truths come to light, both Sloan and Dominic are forced to confront the past, unanswered “what ifs,” and the complicated emotions that come with falling in love under heartbreaking circumstances. Their journey raises difficult questions about love, loyalty, healing, and whether it’s possible to move forward without betraying the memory of someone you lost.
J.L. Seegars delivered a heartfelt, emotional romance that kept me invested from beginning to end. If you enjoy stories filled with angst, emotional healing, and second-chance romance with plenty of tension, this one is worth picking up.

Love it the book, the detail in which she tells the story of death, love, and life is beautifully done! Must read!

I really enjoyed the writing but the plot line could have been better. I agree with other comments that hating someone for 12 years because you’re secretly in love with them is…. weird. But, overall, it was good enough to keep me hooked and finish the book!

Oh okay this is THIS kind of book.
It takes all the micro niches and premises I LOVE in a romance, plus the HUGE forbidden elephant in the room is enough to grab my attention and keep it.
This book most def deserves all the praise it is getting.
When it comes to this couple and the way they come together. I am blown away. This plot came to me as a surprise. I am trying to be so careful and not spoil it.
But there is something about a mean grump that has A HUGE REASON to be angry, that we dont find out until LATER. I swear my mouth was hanging open when I found out.
The steam and dirty talk is elite. The angst will have you in shackles. And the supporting cast- friend group adds such life to the plot. I am def interested in finding out more about these other couples.
